Watch Olympic silver medalist Kennedy Blades hit signature suplex, launching opponent into air

Olympic silver medalist Kennedy Blades is already one of the top wrestlers in the world but she’s also earning a reputation for constantly finding a way to use her signature move in competition.

In almost identical fashion as one of her matches during the 2024 games in Paris, Blades continues to use the suplex to perfect whenever she gets into a position where she can lift and throw her opponents to the mat while creating a highlight-reel moment. When Blades did that at the Olympics, her opponent actually came crashing down so hard she had to be transported for medical treatment afterwards.

Thankfully, this time around there was no injury, but Blades definitely used her suplex again during tournament competition on Friday as she grabbed her opponent and launched her into the air during a jaw-dropping sequence on the mats.

Blades was dominant en route to a 13-0 technical fall victory as she moved forward in the tournament.

The 21-year-old phenom actually came up training under coach Israel Martinez, who is well-known in the MMA world after working with a slew of top fighters including UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones, ex-UFC champion Holly Holm and many more over the years.

Kennedy has teased her interest in potentially pursuing an MMA career in the future. Fow now, she’s laser-focused on capturing a gold medal when the Summer Olympics land in Los Angeles for the 2028 games.
