Watch Israel Adesanya lose his mind during Michael Chandler’s late slams of Charles Oliveira at UFC 309

Israel Adesanya was all of us watching the final seconds of the UFC 309 co-main event between Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler.

After getting thoroughly dominated through four rounds by Oliveira, Chandler knew he needed something big if he had any chance of getting his hand raised. The former Bellator lightweight champ had Oliveira badly hurt in the fifth round and nearly finished the fight, but the crafty Oliveira hung in. In the closing moments of the fight, and with Oliveira on his back, Chandler stood up John Cena style, and slammed Oliveira down to the canvas back first. It didn’t work, so Chandler did it again, and at that point, Chandler was content letting the final seconds tick off.

Oliveira bounced back in the win column and has earned a title shot in the 155-pound division against the winner of the expected Islam Makhachev vs. Arman Tsarukyan rematch.

Chandler has now lost two straight, and is 2-4 in the promotion, but has picked up a post-fight bonus in every octagon appearance. Following the fight, the must-see lightweight called for a rebooking with Conor McGregor.
