Amanda Lemos didn’t add to her highlight reel but she got a win nonetheless after stifling Iasmin Lucindo over three rounds to win a unanimous decision at UFC 313.

Takedown after takedown coupled with a whole lot of ground control allowed Lemos to shut down Lucindo and ultimately earn 29-28 scorecards across the board from the judges.

Using her experience and a smart game plan, Lemos got Lucindo down early and held her there with little chance to get up again. Lemos continued to put the pressure on Lucindo including from the clinch where she connected with a couple of stiff inside elbows.

Lemos continued to drag Lucindo to the ground, peppering her with punches and even slammed a knee to the body before she got pulled back into full guard. The control continued with Lemos remaining on top of Lucindo, although there wasn’t much action happening.

In between rounds heading into the final five minutes, Lucindo’s coaches read her the riot act and that resulted in her landing a takedown of her own as she attempted to turn the tables for a late comeback.

Unfortunately, Lucindo couldn’t do much from the dominant position and eventually Lemos earned the reversal to get back on top before the fight came to a close.

The victory puts Lemos back on track as she continues to bounce back and forth between wins and losses with a 2-2 resume in her past four appearances.
