UFC 313 has suffered a loss just hours before the Alex Pereira vs. Magomed Ankalaev headlined event.
UFC officials announced that John Castaneda suffered an illness and his 145-pound matchup with Chris Gutierrez is cancelled.
With the cancellation, the pay-per-view card moves forward with 11 fights.
Castaneda was slated to compete at UFC Vegas 103 a week ago before his opponent Douglas Silva de Andrade was scratched due to a medical issue. “Sexi Mexi” was looking to bounce back from a decision loss to Daniel Marcos in his most recent bout.
Gutierrez will have to wait for his next octagon walk. “El Guapo” was originally set to face Jean Matsumoto on Saturday’s card, but Matsumoto was moved to UFC Seattle, where he dropped a decision to Rob Font.
