Logan Paul won’t fight Jake Paul ‘unless it’s MMA,’ reveals why he failed at booking his brother against KSI

Jake Paul and Logan Paul teased a potential fight between them several months ago but in reality the faceoffs and posts made on social media were all just marketing tools to launch their ongoing reality series Paul American on HBO Max.

But the siblings have teased the possibility of actually fighting in the past, especially considering how they both got started competing at the same time while effectively launching the influencer boxing scene. These days, Logan has dedicated almost all of his time to a professional wrestling career while Jake stuck around boxing and now holds an 11-1 record with a fight booked against Julio Caesar Chavez Jr. in June.

While the conversation about fighting each other never seems to go away, Logan admits that boxing his brother is probably never going to happen but he might consider another sport instead.

“Not unless it’s MMA,” Paul said on his podcast about potentially fighting Jake. “He’d definitely win [in boxing] at this point. He’s got a heavy hand. We would need an insane amount of money.”

Jake actually signed with the PFL to eventually make his transition into MMA, although it seems less and less likely that happens as time passes and he remains dedicated to his boxing career.

As for Logan, he actually revealed in a previous episode of his podcast that he reached out to UFC CEO Dana White about possibly fighting in the octagon but never got much of a response, which pretty much told him the promotion wasn’t interested in his idea.

So it sounds like a Paul vs. Paul fight is unlikely to ever happen but Logan did try his best to book his brother in a boxing match against his former foe turned business partner KSI.

Logan actually got his start in boxing with a pair of fights against KSI and the 31-year-old British influencer went onto launch his own promotion with Misfits Boxing.

While Logan and KSI have long since settled their beef — and teamed up to launch a hugely successful energy drink company together — talks about a potential showdown with Jake Paul have never stopped.

In fact, Logan admits he desperately tried to coordinate a fight between Jake and KSI but there was one major factor that prevented it from happening.

“I tried,” Logan said. “I gave it 110 percent effort. In my very, very hard attempt to try to make it happen, it has come down to a weight disagreement.

“KSI will go up to 190 [pounds], Jake will go down to 192.5 [pounds]. It’s a two and a half pound difference. [Jake is] a heavyweight fighter and you’ve never cut weight and I’m telling you when you cut weight, it f*cks up your performance. For Jake now who’s walking around at 225 — 30 pounds is a huge deal and opposite for KSI, who’s walking around at 180, 185 to come up and gain weight.”

Logan says the weight discrepancy effectively doomed Jake fighting KSI and he’s not sure either of them are interested in revisiting those conversations again.

“So [KSI is] gaining weight so he’s going to be slower as a reactive and then Jake’s going to be drained,” Paul said. “I see both sides. It just feels super unfortunate. I don’t know if it will ever happen.”
