Jordan Leavitt’s submission skills were on full display at UFC Vegas 107.

“The Monkey King” needed less than two minutes to defeat Kurt Holobaugh on Saturday’s preliminary card, locking in an anaconda choke that left Holobaugh sleeping on the mat.

Leavitt wasted not time taking the fight to the mat, immediately changing levels to shoot for a takedown on the recent Ultimate Fighter winner. Holobaugh did his best to defend, but Leavitt showed impressive technique to drag Holobaugh down and then hunt for submissions.

Once Leavitt moved into position for the anaconda choke, there was little Holobaugh could do besides choose whether to tap or nap. He chose the latter and referee Mike Beltran was quick to jump in for the stoppage, which officially came at the 1:29 mark of Round 1.

Leavitt (12-3) bounces back from a loss to Chase Hooper and has now alternated wins and losses in his past five fights. For Holobaugh (21-10, 1 NC), he is now just 1-3 since fighting his way back to the UFC with his TUF 31 tournament win.
