A free MMA webinar on Jan. 3 with attorney Mark Reich of KP Law will review best practices for municipal flag flying policies and handling requests from third parties to fly flags.
The webinar will also address First Amendment concerns in the wake of increasing interest in this form of expression.
Reich, a shareholder at KP Law, will discuss flagpoles as locations for government speech as well as public forums, including a brief review of the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision in Shurtleff v. City of Boston, which considered the city’s refusal to raise a “Christian flag” outside of City Hall.
The presentation will conclude with a 30-minute question and answer period with attendees.
Appointed and elected officials are invited to register online.
