Bo Nickal pokes fun at Reinier de Ridder knockout loss with prank

Bo Nickal isn’t above cracking a joke at his own expense.

The blue-chip middleweight prospect suffered his first loss this past May when he lost by knockout to the more experienced Reinier de Ridder at UFC Des Moines. Critics were quick to jump on Nickal’s misfortune, with PFL star Sergio Pettis going as far as to say the three-time NCAA wrestling champion “needed this humble pie.”

Though Nickal initially had a volatile reaction to his haters, it appears he’s moved on. Nickal released a prank video alongside comedian Redd Miller (better known as “ImReddTv”) in which he pretended to KO Miller with a knee to the body, the same strike de Ridder utilized to end their fight.

Watch the video below.

In the brief clip, Miller is seen mocking Nickal’s ability to take a knee while the fighter grapples with PFL middleweight champion Johnny Eblen. The taunts prompt Nickal to immediately put Miller’s toughness to the test. The comedian sells the strike like a shotgun blast, but it’s obvious the incident is staged.

If there was any doubt, Miller wrote in the accompanying caption, “Did you guys hear that crack? Bo Nickal got really mad but it was just a prank.”

Nickal has plenty of time to horse around as he awaits his next booking. The 29-year-old won his first seven pro bouts (including a 4-0 start in the UFC) before the loss to de Ridder and now seeks to bounce-back from his first MMA setback.
