MONTREAL — UFC 315 is almost here, and Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena are ready to go.
On Saturday, UFC 315 takes place at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, headlined by a welterweight title fight between Muhammad and Della Maddalena, and on Friday, Muhammad and Della Maddalena faced off for the final time before their bout at the ceremonial weigh-ins, with both fighters looking fired up to get after it.
“Jack is a dead man walking,” Muhammad told the crowd after their faceoff. “Tomorrow, and still, inshallah! You guys are gonna witness greatness, baby!”
Riding an 11-fight unbeaten streak, Muhammad is making the first defense of his welterweight title this weekend. “Remember the Name” won the belt with a dominant decision over Leon Edwards at UFC 304. Muhammad was then supposed to defend the title against Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310 in December, but withdrew due to injury. Rakhmonov, in turn, was unable to compete at UFC 315 due to injury, opening the door for Della Maddalena to step in for a title shot.
Also on Saturday, women’s flyweight title champion Valentina Shevchenko puts her newly reclaimed title on the line against Manon Fiorot. Shevchenko reclaimed the title with a decision win over Alexa Grasso at UFC 306, ending their rivalry. Fiorot, meanwhile, is 7-0 in the UFC and coming off a win over Erin Blanchfield in March of 2024 to secure her title shot.
