Written by LAS VEGAS – Michael Chandler and Paddy Pimblett crossed paths for the first time Friday in advance of the UFC 314 co-main event.
Former Bellator champ Chandler (23-9 MMA, 2-4 UFC) will take on surging contender Pimblett (22-3 MMA, 6-0 UFC) in a five-round bout April 12 at Kaseya Center in Miami (ESPN+ pay-per-view, ESPN/Disney+, ESPN+) in what has the makings of a defining bout for both men.
Chandler will attempt to bust out of a 1-4 slump over his past five bouts, while Pimblett tries to stay unbeaten in the octagon against his most credentialed foe to date.
The lightweights remained cordial during their faceoff. Pimblett stared forward with a grin before he embraced Chandler with a handshake-hug athe faceoff’s conclusion.
