Written by Kevin Christian exited Dana White’s Contender Series 73 the victor Tuesday after he submitted Francisco Mazzeo in front of the UFC brass.
The tap came at 4:17 of Round 2 after Brazil’s Christian (9-2) locked in a triangle armbar found inescapable by Italy’s Mazzeo (4-1). The light heavyweight bout took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

With the win, Christian extends his streak to five. He has never gone to the judges’ scorecards through 10 professional fights.
Mazzeo loses for the first time as a professional. He entered the fight having never gone longer than two minutes.
